First use help
If you are new on this website we recommend to read the
project description first. It will tell
you what the aim of the web portal is and if it is suitable for you to make
use of it. All other descriptions as about your rights, information sources,
contacts etc. will be of interest later, for example. when you decide to
share your sights with others.
Then select a theme. In principle, we have two groups:
- the natural resources
subdivided into:
- air
- soil, parks, city landscapes
- water
2. water use and waste
subdivided into
- drinking water
- waste water and sewage
- waste management
When selecting a theme you can click on the corresponding map or photo
to
view the related map, select the layers you want to combine and see and zoom into
the map. Here you will see various objects (points, lines, polygones). To
retrieve additional information select the instrument ( i
) form the toolbar and click on the object and
then you will see the table of
attributes. For more information you can go to the collection of text files
and select the corresponding file. Here you can also find links to the full
texts from the Ecological Atlas Kiev.
Of course, you can also read the background information first and then go
to the maps later.
If this information is not sufficient for you go to the chapter on
information sources. Here you will find addresses of the State organisations,
NGOs and scientific institutes. You can also share your points of view with
others by delivering information to the media or just by using our guestbook.
Please keep in mind that this is a pilot project and that we could not
provide information of everything. We hope that more and more people will go
through our web portal and answer questions or publish information that we
have not treated. And last not least you can write us an email if you still
have open questions.
